In this presentation I will discuss some key terms, challenges, accuracy issues and success stories that appear in computational chemistry of materials and molecules. I will aim my talk to non-experts in the field so the ttle could also have been: “Travels into the nanoworld with Erwin Schrödinger and Isaac Newton and very light luggage”. Some of my examples will come from inorganic interface chemistry and ionic aqueous systems.
